Actor, Director. He was a character actor in both film and the early days of television who later became involved in various television series as director. He served in the United States Army during the Second World War. After the war he went into acting, under the name David Orrick, in television and then in film. He appeared in such television series and films as "NBC Presents", "Mister Peepers", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Man Against Crime", "Rumble on the Docks" (1956), "Footsteps in the Night" (1957), and "The Spirit of St. Louis" (1957). In the later part of the 1950s, he ventured into the directing side of television. He would continue directing until the late 1960s with such television show credits as "Lux Video Theatre", "Peter Gunn", "The Third Man", "The Twilight Zone", "Bonanza", "Burke's Law", "Bewitched", "That Girl", "Gilligan's Island", and "It's About Time". He was married to actress Patricia Breslin from 1953 to 1969.
