Marshall A. Berkimer, 72, of 213 Third St., retired Butler funeral director, died last night at Butler County Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.

Born Jan. 18, 1898, in Butler, he was the son of the late Marshall A. and Mary Clark Berkimer.

He was a veteran of both World War I and World War II.

Mr. Berkimer had operated funeral homes in Butler and in Lock Haven.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucille Critchlow Berkimer; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Brown of Cumberland, Md., and Janice Berkimer and Mrs. Edward (Miriam) Guiney, both of Lower Burrell; and three nieces and a nephew.
