Marcella June (Haley) Larkin of Gloucester Point, VA died Sunday evening, May 17, 2009 at her home with her children by her side. She died of pancreatic cancer. June was born on December 25, 1936 in San Diego, California. She married Lee Roy Larkin on June 31, 1952. He predeceased her on May 28, 1986. She was the daughter of the late George F. Haley and Philomena (Zawacki) Haley.She was the first grandchild born in the Zawacki family. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Boleslaw and Amelia Zawacki of Norwich, CT until six years of age. Her parents, the Haley's were a military family. She leaves two sons, Raymond Larkin and Michael and his wife Traci, both of Gloucester Point, VA.; one daughter, Teresa Corbin and her husband Christopher of San Antonio, TX; one granddaughter, Jessica Larkin, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and, two step grandchildren, Billy and Lauren of Gloucester Point, VA; one brother George F. Haley, Jr., and his wife Judy of Abilene, TX; two sisters, Katheeen Jean McKinney, of Santa Clara, CA. and Philomena Mae Haley of San Diego, CA. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. In Connecticut she is survived by her Aunt and God-mother, Amelia Wojick of Willimantic, also, her close friend, childhood playmate her Aunt Albina and uncle Joseph Czapski, of Norwich, aunts Leocadia Zawacki of Norwich and Agnes Zawacki in Oakdale, CT., and uncle George Denis of Franklin, CT. She leaves many cousins in Connecticut and was predeceased by five maternal aunts and four maternal uncles. She has requested a private funeral with burial in Arlington Cemetery in Washington, D.C. where she will join her late husband Lee Roy Larkin. Interment will take place in June 2009.
