Graveside Rites Are Held For William Carter

Graveside services were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon for William H. Carter, of Carters­ville, who passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning lit the home of his sister Mrs. Mabel Bayless, in Melrose, Florida.

The rites were conducted by Rev. C. J. Craig, with interment following in the family plot in Pellicer Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased, Delbert Godwin, Harold Morrison, Louie Thomas, Francis Middleton, Worth Eatman, and Frank Carter.

He was 85 years of age, and a native and life-long resident of St. Johns County. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by eight sisters. In addition to Mrs. Bayless, are Mrs. W. A. Cubbedge of St. Au­gustine; Mrs. Eva Thomas, St. Augustine, Mrs. Edna Godwin, Miami; Mrs. Alice Pickett, Jack­sonville; Mrs. Ella Morrow, Madison, Fla.; Mrs. C. C. Middleton, Clearwater; and Mrs. C. A. Parker, Daytona Beach.

Also one brother Theo Carter, of West Point Pleasant, N. J., and a large number of nieces and nephews.
