The daughter of the late William Esley Dawes and Martha Ann Wells Dawes.

She was united in marriage to Alvin Chester Butcher on April 15, 1938 and to this union three children were born. They were married for over 70 years prior to Alvin's death on June 18, 2008.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband, one daughter Rosalie Butcher Raper; one grandson, David Williams; one great-granddaughter Leslie Swart; eight brothers, Walter E. Dawes, Vernon L. Dawes, Luther Esley Dawes, James L. Dawes, Guy Herman Dawes, William Cullen Dawes, Paul Chancy Dawes and Clarence Allen Dawes and five sisters, Lutte Ann Dawes Duncan, Nellie May Dawes Miller, Neva Opal Dawes Knight Lewis, Lela Marie Dawes Harris Penney and Wauletta Irene Dawes.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2009 at 2 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church of Yale with Brother Michael Dersham and Pastor John Marks officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ingalls Cemetery.
