James Bryan McElwain was son of Daniel Beyer McElwain and Harriet Ecklin. He was born in Pennsylvania and last known home was in Van Buren County, Iowa. Some family members report he was buried in Macon County, Iowa but the presenting problem is that there is no Macon County, Iowa. Some report he was buried Mt. Zion and the cemetery for Mt. Zion is Miller's Chapel Cemetery. I do not know if James is buried here, but I have created a memorial to celebrate his life. If someone knows specific informaton, please let me know. He married Martha Elizabeth Stauffer. They were the parents of Mable Jane MeElwain.
