US Senator. He was elected as a Senator from New Jersey to the United States Senate, serving from 1929 to 1935. The brother of fellow New Jersey Senator John Kean, he is interred in the Winthrop Family Tomb, which also holds the remains of Civil War Union Brevet General Frederick Winthrop.
