Obituary - Teresa Willey Painter died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 at St. Mark's Hospital.

Born January 10, 1910 in Salt Lake City to Israel Emerson and Emily Cannon Willey, and was the granddaughter of George Q. Cannon. She married Merle Leo Painter, June 8, 1940 at Athens, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1957. She was educated in Salt Lake City Schools and the

University of Utah where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

She and her family lived in Springfield, Illinois and Fresno, California until she returned to Salt Lake City in 1977. Was involved in volunteer work after returning to Salt Lake City. Member of the LDS Church.

Preceded in death by brothers, Emerson C. Willey and Richard H. Willey; and sisters, Alice W. Pomeroy and Rosalyn W. Hughes.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James Emerson and Cheryl Painter of Arnold, Maryland; and Robert Edwin and Judi Painter of Westwood, Massachusetts.

Her final years were spent at Chateau Brickyard where she received devoted care from her health care aides and friends, Patricia C. Shosted and Lorraine Abila.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, 11 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and N Street. Friends and family may call Friday evening Nov. 23rd from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 24th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple.

Family suggests that contributions may be made to Utah State Library for the Blind, 250 N. 1950 West, Suite A, Salt Lake City, or to the organization of donor's choice.
