Hansel is an Uncle I never met. When traveling in Florida with my Father in 1969, my Father and an Uncle went to visit Hansel in a Veteran's Home near Jacksonville, Florida. He was said to have a beautiful singing voice and was a member of his church choir.
Hansel was a veteran of WWII.
Hansel enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 18 July 1940.
He served his county in the Navy until 19 July 1948.
My father said Hansel suffered from 'shell shock'. I pray he had a good life and now rests in peace.
