Survivors include his wife, Frieda of Kewadin, 1 son, James Hankins of Kewadin; 3 stepsons, Henry Michaels of Grawn, Arthur Michaels of Manton and Raymond Melzar of Kewadin; 4 daughters, Argettia & Clinton Ashley of Rapid City, Augusta & Ernest Elya of Mesick, Gloria & Bruce Longton of Traverse City, and Freda Hankins at home in Kewadin; 3 brothers, Wallace Hankins of Hoxeyville, Ernest Hankins of Kewadin, and Robert Hankins of Mesick; 3 sisters, Lucille & Arnold Redman of Kewadin, Nina & Ralph Byers of Buckley, and Lula & Stanley Castle of Luther; 20 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation was at King Funeral Chapel in Mesick. Services were at Mesick United Methodist Church with Rev Roger Harlein officiating.
Burial was in Lot 63, Opening 3 in Mesick-Sherman Memorial Cemetery in Mesick.
