Ileene G. Barkdoll, 93, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away comfortably at home on July 11, 2022.
Ileene was born on January 25, 1929, to the late George C. and Carrie (Ott) Hahn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gehr Barkdoll; daughter, Linda K. Swope; great-granddaughters, Abigail Barkdoll and Peyton Swope; 10 sisters and four brothers.
Ileene is survived by her daughter, Sharon Peiffer and husband, Dennis; Stepson, David Barkdoll and wife, Judy; Son in-law, Ronnie Swope; Grandchildren: Ty Barkdoll and wife Delea, Karla Barkdoll and husband Joe, Ryan Swope and wife Kim, Holli Sholty and partner Tim Williams, Joshua Swope and wife Casey, Brandon Peiffer and wife, Irina; Great- Grandchildren, Benjamin Barkdoll, Emma Swope, Charlotte Swope, Luke Swope, and Isobel Williams; and special caregiver, Vicky Lewis.
Ileene was a devout Christian and a member of Blue Mountain Church of God.
The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at J.L. Davis Funeral Home on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Julie Brigham officiating. Interment will be at Harbaugh Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: "Peyton's Promise Fund" Community Foundation of Washington County, 37 South Potomac St. Hagerstown, MD 21740.
