Arlene Larsen was born September 14, 1908, at Clifton, Idaho, the daughter of William E. and Dora May Davis Larsen. After her graduation from Clifton High School, she moved with her family to Logan, where she attended Brigham Young College and took part in musical productions.
On December 21, 1927, Arlene and Sylvester Charles Anderson were married. Sylvester was born in Millville to Charles and Hidvie Nielson Anderson. After graduating from South Cache High School, he attended Brigham Young College and graduated from Utah State Agricultural College where he excelled in sports. He served a mission to Eastern Canada.
Sylvester taught school in Millville where he was principal for twelve years. Then he taught at South Cache high school for twelve years. He earned his master's degree in 1966. He joined scouting in its infancy, was a scoutmaster for twenty-two years, and received the Silver Beaver award.
At the Grand Theater in Logan, Arlene played the pipe organ for silent movies until the "talkies" came in. Her next few years were devoted to her family. She later earned her degree at Utah State University.
Sylvester and Arlene both held numerous positions of trust in the LDS Church. Sylvester was Bishop of the Millville Ward for nine years.
Arlene was Relief Society President and shared her musical talent throughout the years.
They spent three years in Samoa where Sylvester was Assistant Principal. He then was Principal at Preston Junior High and High School, and Arlene taught Special Education.
They both served for many years as officiators at Logan Temple.
