He was an internist who specialized in the treatment of diabetes, died of bladder cancer yesterday at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He was 62 years old and lived in Fort Lee, New Jersey. He was the husband of Dr. Joyce Brothers, the psychologist, was co-chief of the diabetes clinic at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and associate clinical professor at the center's medical school. He was also chief of the diabetes unit at the Veterans Administration Hospital in the Bronx. He received his medical degree from the Downstate Medical Center of the State University of New York in Brooklyn. He served in the Navy in World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dr. Lisa Arbisser of Davenport, Iowa; a sister, Marjorie Uman of Lake Worth, Fla., and four grandchildren.
