Lydia Ann Day, the daughter of Joseph Day and Margaret Elizabeth Brooks, was born September 4, 1809 in Hardin County, Kentucky. The area where she was born became Grayson County, Kentucky in 1810. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Day, Sr. and Catherine Yarnell. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas and Margaret (nee Unknown) Brooks. Both families were from Virginia.

Lydia Ann Day and Caleb Stinson, the 5th of the 7 children of William Stinson and 1/w Mollie McDaniel, were married about 1830 in Grayson County. They were the parents of the following children born in Grayson County:

He died there at the age of 55 years, 6 months and 13 days on July 24, 1865. They were both buried in the Miller Cemetery near Caneyville, Kentucky.
