ADKINS, DOROTHY A. – Services for DOROTHY A. ADKINS are 1 p.m. Thursday at HINSEY-BROWN FUNERAL SERVICE. Mrs. Adkins, 58, of Shirley died Monday at her home following an extended illness. She was a 1960 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School in New Castle, IN. She retired in 1994 after 14 years of service at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, Indiana, where she was an out patient record coordinator in medical records. She was employed at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle from 1973-1979. She was a charter member of the East Robbins Baptist Church. She was born 17 Sept 1942, in Robbins, Tenn., a daughter of HAROLD VIRGIL ROBBINS and VERA BELLE BARNETT ROBBINS. In addition to her mother of Robbins, Tenn., she is survived by her husband, KERMIT, whom she married 12 Oct 1963; a son, PAUL (Wife: TAMMY) of Shirley; five sisters, MYRNA (husband: JACK GIBSON of Sunbright, Tenn., MARION NELL WRIGHT of Oak Ridge, Tenn., BARBARA (husband: TERRY WILLIAMS of Elgin, Tenn., SHERRY ROBBINS and ETTA HUMAN, both of Robbins, Tenn., a brother, GERALD (Wife: OMA) ROBBINS of ROBBINS, TENN.; and several nieces, nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her father in 1969; a brother, RICHARD GALE; and grandparents, MARTIN & ANNIE BARNETT and RUFE & ESSIE ROBBINS. The Rev. DANNY DOUGLAS will officiate Thursday's service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association - Camp John Warvel, a camp for under privileged diabetic children, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
