James Robert "Jim Bob" Paxton was born September 15, 1923 in Elkhart, Texas, the son of the late Eugene Stratton Paxton and Ella Adell Clark Paxton. Mr. Paxton died Aug 4, 2009. He served in the Navy. He received his law degree and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1951. He served two terms in the Texas Legislature. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Lee Hall Paxton; and his daughters, Mary, Martha, Jane, Sarah and Rebecca; grandchildren, Lauren, Jane, Mary Catherine, Brent, Rachel, Ruth, Matthew, Barrett, and Wes. Mr. Paxton was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth, in 1965; and his sisters and brothers, Ellen, Jennie, Mary, Maude, Eugene, and Cullen.
