Aileen, age 81, passed away in her sleep on Monday at her home. She born the daughter of William & Anna (Vesely) Amend.
A graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School and Portage High School, she attended the University of Wisconsin before being united in marriage to Oscar Pynnonen on Jan. 27, 1951.
Aileen was an avid bridge player and enjoyed the daily crossword puzzle. She was a prolific reader of mysteries and had a unique sense of humor, often sharing stories with family and close friends. She was an excellent cook (but not a very good seamstress).
While in Wonewoc, she was an active member of St. Jerome's parish, serving on the Altar Society and doing the bookkeeping. After leaving, she enjoyed her winters in Arizona and summers in Pardeeville while always remembering her Wonewoc friends.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter and her husband, three sons and their wives, six grandchildren, five siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Kenneth Amend, Anna Mary Tice, Bernard "B.J." Amend, Norbert "Butch" Amend and Regina Arndt.
