1956 - E. Paul DeLong, 81, of 141 N. 11th St., a resident of Allentown for most of his life, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday at his home. His death was unexpected. A native of Ballietsville, he was a son of the late Joel and Mary (Mattern) DeLong and was the husband of the former Emma J. Falk, who survives. DeLong was employed for many years as a steam shovel operator for the Lehigh Portland Cement Co. and more recently worked with the maintenance department of the Easter Light Co. in Allentown. He was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Neffs and a charter member of the POSA, Camp 168, Egypt. In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children, Edwin Paul, Catasauqua; Mrs. Minnie Acker, Allentown; Clarence R., Egypt; Elsie, wife of Philip Kadingo, with whom he made his home, and Esther, wife of John Winters, Bethlehem. There are 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; a brother Tilden, Catasauqua, and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Schmoyer, Orefield, and Mrs. Laura Travitz, Harrisburg. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Bachman Funeral Home, 1030 Walnut St., Allentown.
