Joel De Long, an aged and respected citizen of Schnecksville, died last evening of apoplexy, aged eighty-three years, ten months and eighteen days. About five weeks ago he was stricken with apoplexy and he lingered until yesterday when he had another stroke from which he died. The deceased was a retired farmer. He was a native of Berks county and resided at Ballietsville where he conducted the farms of Paul Balliet and Frank Mickley. He is survived by his wife and four sons and seven daughters as follows: Daniel, of Lafayette; David, of Ballietsville; Paul, of Fullerton R.F.D. No. 1; Tilden, of Orefield Route No. 1; Mrs. Preston Mickley, of schnecksville R.F.D. No. 1; Miss Sarah De Long, at home; Mrs. Milton Schneck, of Coplay R.F.D. No. 1; Mrs. A. J. Brown, Coplay R. D. D. No. 1; Mrs. Alice Swartz, Coplay; Mrs. William Travitz, of Steelton; Mrs. Quillas Schweyer, Coplay R.F.D. No. 1. Also one brother, Alvin De Long, of Esteria, Michigan. The funeral will be held on Tuesday forenoon at 10 o'clock, Revs. Oswald and Longacre officiating.
