Ruth Dixon Elder

Ruth Dixon Elder, 87, Billings, Mo., widow of former Lexington resident A. Lawrence Elder, Died May 6, 1988 in Springfield, Mo.

Memorial services were held May 8, in Springfield, Mo. Interment will be June 11 in Lexington Cemetery, at the same time as her brother-in-law, Clarence Hubert Elder. Musselman-Moore Funeral Home, Lexington, is in charge of local arrangements.

She was born Aug. 14, 1900, in Danville. She married A. Lawrence Elder Aug. 31, 1925. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, the Rev. John Dixon Elder, Oberlin, Ohio; one daughter, Louise Gillispie, Billings, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

Mrs. Elder was a graduate of Illinois State university and held state and national offices in the Campfire Girls association and the Presbyterian church.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
