Margaret was born to parents Samuel Greer Williamson (who changed the family name to Williams after Margaret's birth) and Matilda Moore. She first married William W. Latimer June 19, 1868 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. They had four children, John, Ida, George and Samuel. Her husband William worked for ship builders, he accompanied a ship on it's maiden voyage- the ship disappeared in the late 1870's. She then married William H. Simms July 11, 1881 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. They had three children together, Hannah, Matilda and Norman.
