He was educated in Freedom schools and was a Veteran of World War II serving in the European Theater, 201st Ozark Division in England, Belgium, and Germany. For several years he transported milk for area farmers to United Farmers Creamery in Albion. After the creamery closed, he operated a farm and worked trucking pulp wood.
Donald was predeceased by his parents; his former wife Helen Corson; and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Taylor.
He is survived by his sons, Amos Eugene Bradstreet and long time companion, Rosemary Blackledge of Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts, Erland Bradstreet and his wife Beverly of Albion; his daughter Ellen Fuller and her husband Timothy of Clinton; his brother, Paul Bradstreet and his wife Linda of Goose Greek, South Carolina; his grandchildren, Sherry Wilson and her husband Paul of Albion, Mary Potelle of Winslow, Ryan Bradstreet and his wife Debbie of Thorndike, Tanya Stevens and her husband Mark of Oakland, Kevin Bradstreet and his wife Sarah of Albion, and Julie Bradstreet of China. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 6-8 pm at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, Maine where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Murdock officiating. (Morning Sentinel Jan. 2007)
