Floyd Baker

Floyd I. Baker, former resident of Blue Hill, died September 29, 1993, at the Bethesda Care Center in Edgar, Nebraska. He was 80.

Mr. Baker was born October 9, 1912, to William and Myrtle Baker at Pauline, Nebraska. On June 20, 1940, he married Margaret Johnson at Smith Center, Kansas. She died November 15,1977.

Mr. Baker worked for Peak Gasoline Transport in Chester and later for Corner and Jones Farming in Blue Hill. He also worked for Hudson Oil in Hastings. He had resided in Edgar since 1984.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris, who died in 1946.

Survivors include two sisters, Marie Lighthill of Hastings and Dorothy Reiman of Blue Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Services were held at the Merten-Butler Chapel in Blue Hill on Friday, October 1, with the Rev Harold Fox officiating. Marlys Kort was organist.

Pallbearers were Floyd Baker Jr., Garry and Timothy Wessels Johnny J., James R., and Jason F Hanson. Interment was at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Webster County with the Merten-Butler Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
