Harold Baker Dies In Lincoln

Harold Wm. Baker, 54, died Sunday, February 21, 1965 at a Lincoln hospital after a brief illness. He was taken to Mary Lanning Hospital on Saturday, February 13 and was moved to Lincoln on the Tuesday preceding his death. His farm home was 10 miles southwest of Blue Hill.

Baker was born at Pauline, Nebr., on January 27, 1911, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. D. Baker and died at the age of 54 years, 25 days. He spent his early life in the Pauline and Blue Hill vicinity. He was married on August 9, 1933 to Rosie Lukas and to this union was born three daughters; two preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife, Rosie, daughter Mrs. Bill (Janet) Kile, son-in-law Bill. He leaves also two brothers, Guy of Blue Hill and Floyd of Bladen and five sisters Mrs. Arthur Hager, Pauline; Mrs. Gus Kissler, Hastings; Mrs. Ernest Schmidt, Gurnsey, Wyo.; Mrs. Ernest Reiman, Bladen; Mrs. Darrell Lighthill, Hastings; and one sister, Mrs. Betty Mau preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Pauline Methodist church. The Rev. Truman Bachenberg officiated and burial was in the Oak Creek cemetery. Pallbearers were Ben Leighfield, Gale Brown, Roy Anderson, Harold Alber, John Niemeyer and Lawrence Kalvoda.

The Merten-Butler Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
