MAURICE WASHINGTON BAKER was born May 6, 1869 at Peru, Nebraska and passed away at a Scottsbluff hospital May 20th at the age of 82 years and 14 days.
He was married to Josie Stephen in February of 1900. .
Mr. Baker spent most of his life In the vicinity of Pauline and then moved to Harvard, Nebraska, in 1946. He lived there until his wife passed away in October of 1948 and then went to make his home with his son William Baker of Gering, Nebraska.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Goldie Herz, of Torrington, Wyoming; William Baker of Gering, Nebraska; Mrs. Ruth Houghtaling of Gary, Indiana; Mrs. Evelyn Jensen of Gary, Indiana: one brother Dowl Baker of Pauline, one sister Jean Schultz of Hastings, Nebraska; and Earl Baker of Lincoln, Illinois. There are 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also many friends.
He is preceded in death by one daughter Pearlie, who passed away in 1944 and two daughters and one son who died in infancy.
His body was brought here from Scottsbluff for service today. Burial will be made in Oak Creek cemetery.
