SLACK, JULIA T., 91, of Rossville, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
A native of Ruff, Texas, and a 66-year resident of Rossville, she was a member of Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church, the Peerless Bible Class and the Golden Angers.
She was retired from Peerless Woolen Mills after 20 years and was the widow of Abner E. Slack and the mother of the late H.A. and James L. Slack.
Survivors include three daughters, Annie Geyer, Rossville, Thelma Slack and Abbie Jones, East Ridge; son. W.R. Slack, Fort Oglethorpe; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. J.L. Sharp and the Rev. Virgil Turbyfill officiating. Burial will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after noon today at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
