Caroline married John Goodland at Waterville, Oneida County, New York on September 4th
1850. Just off the ship from England himself, he was a self-made man who would become
Judge of the 10th Circuit Court in Outagamie County, Wisconsin.
Caroline and John were the parents of nine children: sons Walter Samuel (Governor of the
state of Wisconsin); John Jr., (Mayor of Appleton); William, Edward, and Fayette.
Daughters were Abbegail; Mary, (wife of J. H. Woehler, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin), and Edith,
(wife of F. D. Bartlett of Milwaukee), and Emma, who passed away in childhood.
Caroline Clark Goodland died at Appleton, October 26th, 1893, at the age of sixty.
