Helen Virginia Lee Nelson, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2005.

She was born January 29, 1922 in Price, Utah to J. Bracken Lee and Nellie Pace.

She married Harold Andrew Nelson on August 1, 1943 in Bend, Oregon; he died on September 4, 2003.

She was a lifelong resident of Carbon County, where she graduated from Carbon High School and Carbon College. She was a dedicated employee of the College of Eastern Utah from 1959-1990 and she received the Outstanding Staff Award in 1989 and the Lifelong Service Award in 2003.

Helen was a staunch supporter of all activities at CEU and a member of the Beta Sorority. She loved attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, and was an avid Jazz and Ute fan. Helen's greatest love was for her family and she enjoyed traveling.

Helen was survived by two sons and two daughters, Gary (Gaylene) Nelson, Helper; Lee (Mary) Nelson, Salt Lake City; DeLynne Nelson, Price; Colleen (Stan) Pestotnik, Salt Lake City; two brothers and one sister, James (Evelyn) Lee, Joan (Lewis) Taylor, Richard (Marianne) Lee, all of Salt Lake City; nine wonderful grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home located at 233 East Main Street in Price. A viewing was held one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
Helen was laid to rest following the conclusion of the funeral services at Cliffview Cemetery in Price.
