John Corbin, Jr. enlisted as a Private in Swaggerty Co. of the 2nd Georgia Mounted Volunteers, during the removal of the Cherokee Indians (1837-38). This was the same Military unit, his father and brother James, had enlisted in to remove the Cherokee Indians from Georgia.
John Corbin, Jr. was listed as a member of the Grand Lodge of Georgia, Canton Lodge no. 77, in 1854.
