---Alex Ayers, who made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lee and family, of the Illinois Bend community, died suddenly at their home Wednesday morning, July 23.
---The funeral service was held at the Lee home this afternoon conducted by Ira Turner. Burial was made in the Shumaker cemetery.
---Mr. Ayers was about sixty-five years old and is survived by two brothers, Henry of Kirksville and Dave Ayers of this community.
