William J. (Bill) Mullican, 69, Decatur 5, died at his home Saturday.
Funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Moulton Heights Baptist Church, Revs. Floyd O. Parker and Lamar Ingle officiating, with burial in Johnson Chapel Cemetery, Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ella Mae Mullican; three sons, John Thomas Mullican, Billy Ray Mullican and Jack A. Mullican, all of Decatur; five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Tidwell, Athens, and Mrs. Myrtle Chenault, Mrs. Ozella Woodall, Mrs. Maureen Walden and Mrs. Inez M. Pace, all of Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Swindell, Decatur, and Mrs. Emma Pike and Mrs. Ida Kirby, both of Hartselle; three stepchildren, 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Morgan County, Mr. Mullican operated the Moulton Heights Tin Shop for many years before retirement. He was a Baptist and a charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where he served on the board of deacons. Mr. Mullican died of an apparent heart attack while working in his garden.
Active pallbearers will be Duggie Johnson, Louie Mears, Jack Sapp, Earl Maddox, Gene Cash, Billy Jackson, Norman Wright and Dave Adams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Boger, Earnest Jackson, Edwin Lowery, Walter Horn, Ruffie Ellis, Edwin Puckett and Ben Taylor.
The family requests that memorials be made to charities.
