Michael Allen Linderer of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the age of 49. He was born on September 9, 1960 in Springfield, Missouri to Howard and Thelma Linderer. He was raised in Springfield, Missouri, where he attended Glendale High School until his family moved to Oklahoma City when he was 16. He graduated from Bethany High School and married Susan Pirtle on December 22, 1980. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater before moving to Texas. They had two children together, Ryan and Alyssa Linderer. He worked as a police dispatcher in Oklahoma City and in Texas before becoming disabled. In 1991, they moved back to Oklahoma City to be closer to family. His proudest accomplishments involved cooking and catering barbecue, having won 14 barbecue cook-off championships. After his divorce, he resided with his mother and they moved to Sapulpa in 2007 to be closer to his sister and her family.

Preceding him in death are his son, Ryan in 2007 and father, Howard in 1999.

He is survived by his mother, Thelma Linderer of the home; daughter, Alyssa of Yukon; sister, Thelma Fisher; her husband, Dennis and their children, Kelsey, David and Tanner, all of Sapulpa.

He is also survived by his former wife, Susan Linderer, of Yukon and her family.

A memorial service will be held at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 10. Chaplain Galen Graham will officiate.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Kenneth Kirk and Chaplain Galen Graham, as well as the staff at The Continuous Care Center of Tulsa at Sapulpa. Special thanks and gratitude also goes to Clarehouse and all the wonderful caregivers there for the loving care he received in his final days and to the nurses at Evergreen Hospice.
