HYRUM, UTAH: On a warm beautiful afternoon the fish of Blacksmith Fork Canyon breathed a sigh of relief as Larry Joseph Allen passed away peacefully of cancer leaving his beloved Cache Valley home on March 10, 2008.

Larry was born November 28, 1937 in Hyrum, Utah the son of Lloyd and Grace Allen.

He graduated from South Cache High School in 1956. After graduation he joined the Air Force and married Linda Larsen in Roy, Utah. While stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska he enjoyed fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. Born to that union were five children, they later divorced. After the divorce, Larry spent the rest of his life taking care of his parents and their beautiful home in Hyrum. He was a very loving son. He took great pride in caring for his mother's roses and his father's garden loving to share his bountiful harvest, especially tomatoes. He always kept the yard in tip top shape for the Fourth of July for our annual family get together which was one of his favorite times of the year.

Larry loved the outdoors, he felt that Blacksmith Fork Canyon and the deer camp was his own backyard and treated it as if it were.

In 1985 he met the love of his life Corilla Beth Paddock and they were married July 1, 1995 in his families beautiful backyard adding her children to his family and loving them as his own. This union brought so much love and companionship for them both and their lives were blessed with many great adventures and canyon road trips. Together they became active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Being the devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Larry attended as many activities and special events as he could.

He is survived by a large loving family including his sweet wife Beth, his children Larry Jay Allen, Tony L. (LaZell) Allen, Sherry (Bob) Underwood, Angela (Rick) Rhoades and Lacie Paddock. Brothers Ron (Carol) Allen, Dixon (Diana) Allen, Randy (Diane) Allen and sister Cheryl (Brent) Rock and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Jon Kelly, granddaughter Chelsey Allen and step son Christopher Paddock.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday March 15, 2008 at the Hyrum North Stake Center 245 N. 750 E. Hyrum, Utah. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday, March 14, 2008 at Allen Mortuary 420 E. 1800 N. North Logan and from 9:30 to 10:30 Saturday at the Stake Center in Hyrum. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who showed compassion during his short battle with cancer, especially Julie and Carol.

A final goodbye to the golf crew at Hawns. Condolences may be expressed to the family at Allen Mortuaries.
