Major League Baseball Team Owner. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, her father owned the Cleveland Spiders baseball team until the team folded after the 1899 season. In 1911, she inherited ownership of the St. Louis Cardinals after the death of her uncle Stanley Robison and became the first female owner of a major league baseball. While in position, she married the Cardinals president Schuler Britton. She continued to own the team until she divorced Britton in 1916 and sold her shares in the team in 1917. She died in Philadelphia. Pennslyvainia, at the age of 71.
