Melinda Alice Edwards, age 83, died on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 1:50 PM at her son’s residence in Lima, Ohio.
Alice was born on July 9, 1932 in Hardin County, Ohio to Kinner and Lottie (Ousley) Cornwell who preceded her in death. In November of 1958 she married Charles Oscar Edwards and he died on August 31, 2003.
Alice was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Charles “David” (Terri) Edwards of Lima; five grandchildren: Shawn (Megan) Edwards, Chad Edwards, Stefanie (Aaron) Thompson, Joey (Melissa) Oliver and Jennifer Oliver; eight great grandchildren: Caleb, Noah, Ava, Cayden, Bella, Madalynn, Cruz and Olivia; a brother, Bob Cornwell of Lima; two sisters: Shirley (Tom) Brown of Lima and Betty (Harold) Sanders of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by two sons: James Steven Minix and Jon Kevin Edwards; a daughter, Lisa Diane Oliver; and a sister, Bernice Hale.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Tom Brown officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
