Thomas died during the 1918 influenza epidemic - marker shows death date of 10 Dec 1918, but death date should have been 09 Dec 1918 with interment on 10th. His obituary says he died on Monday, which was also the 9th, with burial on Tuesday, the 10th according to a 1918 calendar.

Although the generally accepted spelling of his mother Eliza's last name is Herrell, she was born Harrell and that is the way Thomas' middle name is recorded in the family Bible.
