I never really knew my Uncle Jerry very well as he lived in New York and I lived in California most of our lives. I do remember my family going back to New York for a visit when I was about 10-11, and Uncle Jerry would play his guitar and sing to me....my favorite song then was Jambalaya and as a result, I still remember every word of the song!
Jerry married Virginia Gail Hennigan on 27 May 1967 in Midland, TX. They became the parents of Kathleen and Patrick H. Lenihan. It was after meeting and marrying "Gail" as she preferred being called, that he began responding to the nickname "Jeff".
Jerry served in the infantry of the U.S. Army and later attended the Adelphia University in NY and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He was a member of Pi Sigma fraternity, Physics Club, and served as president of the Engineering Club. He worked for Mobil Oil Company for 30 years, and was later employed as a geophysical software designer at Seismic Micro Technology in Houston, TX.
He was survived by his wife, Gail, and their son Patrick and daughter, Kathleen, daughter-in-law, Julie, and two grandchildren, Colin and Regan, and his sisters, Doris Hodges and Edythe Dunne.
