Sarah Bostwick was born in New Milford. She was the eldest daughter of Esther (Hitchcock) and Capt. Nathaniel Bostwick . She married Sherman Boardman, also of New Milford, in that town on Dec 3, 1755.
They had children: Daniel b. 1757 (died age 8); David b. 1758; Elijah b. 1760; Esther b. 1762; Homer b. 1764; Orinda b. 1767 and second son named David b. 1768.

In memory of Sherman Boardman, Esq. who died July 19, 1814 aged 86 years. And of Sarah his wife who died Oct. 17, 1818 aged 88 years.
