Dorothy Rose Murray passed away October 21, 2009, at Parc at Piedmont Independent Living Facility in Roswell, Georgia. Mrs. Murray was born and raised in Troy and graduated from Troy High School in 1944. She married James F. Murray in 1947 and moved to Schenectady, N.Y., where she worked for General Electric for many years before she and Jim moved back to Troy in 1983. Jim passed away in 1998, and Dorothy relocated to Roswell in 2007. Mrs. Murray will forever be remembered by her son, Bill Murray of Toronto, his wife , Sue and her treasured grandson, James. She was one of five children born to the late Landon Chester and Minnie Dale Rose of Troy. She was predeceased by two brothers, Wilson Rose and Travis Rose, and she is survived by a sister, Peggy Allen of Powder Springs, GA, and a brother, Jim C. Rose of Dothan. Mrs. Murray enjoyed traveling, particularly the cruises she and her husband took around the world. Later in life, she enjoyed the dances at the Colley Senior Complex. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in Green Hills Memorial Park with the Reverend W.O. Sanders officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. You are asked to gather at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2009.
