Randal Wayne Curtis was born in 1931 to Thomas Glenn "Tommie" Curtis and Vera Marie Gailey Curtis.

Randal Curtis Is Buried On Thursday

Dead this week is Randal Wayne Curtis, 19, Falkville Rt. 2, who drowned Tuesday afternoon about 3 p.m. while swimming in the Blair Pool at Corinth on Vinemont Rt. 3.

Members of the family suspected a heart attack as the cause of the death. George and Jordon Brown who live nearby, were also swimming at the time. The Browns said that when Curtis went down the first time, he did not come back to the top. after trying to rescue Curtis, but to no avail, the Browns then notified the boy's father and they returned to the pool with some help and removed him from the water. Artificial respiration was administered but Curtis was already dead when his body was removed.

Curtis graduated from high school this year at Danville. Recently he had taken a selective service examination and had passed. He was a member of the Holy Church of Christ at Pleasant View and an active church worshipper.

The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Curtis, Falkville Rt. 2; two sisters, Margaret and Olene, both of Falkville Rt. 2; four brothers, Glen, Aaron, Chester, and Gary, all of Falkville Rt. 2.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Thursday at Johnson Chapel, the Rev. Joe Yates officiating.

Burial was in the adjoining cemetery, Peck directing.

Pallbearers were Curtis Wilborn, Groover Neal Wilborn, Raymond Smith, Ralph Wilborn, Freeman Smith, and William Depreast.
