Jessie Ruth Hickman Petty passed away Friday, October 30, 2009. She was born April 17, 1919, to the late Sam and Ola McGill Hickman of Soddy, TN. Jessie was a loving mother, a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, and a life-long member of the Mayflower Chapter of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul W. Petty; brothers, Carl, Lewis, and Bob Hickman; and twin sister, Grace Nunley.
She is survived by daughter, Marcella Shipley; son, Samuel (Pat) Petty; granddaughters, Kim Shipley and Sara Petty; grandson, Mike Shipley; half-sister, Sara Elizabeth Brown of Rome, GA; and half-brother, Jack Hickman of Soddy, TN.
The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 2, 2009, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. David McNabb officiating.
Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, November 1.
