Hubert served as a sargeant in Company G 23th Wisconsin Infantry during the Civil War. Hubert and Mary had five daughters: Agnes Bertha, Monemia Rose, Margaret E., Myrtle L. and Leila Irma. These girls moved as a group to La Crosse, Wisconsin with their father after the death of their mother Mary in 1889. After Hubert died in 1899, his five daughters moved to Portland, Oregon where they settled for the rest of their lives. All of them married someone in Portland. The three daughters not listed in Find A Grave are: Agnes Bertha James Wright (married Earl Clark Wright), Monemia Rose Stuart James Peacock (married James Alfred Peacock) and Myrtle L. James Ross (married Charles M. Ross). The gravesites for these sisters and their husbands are in Portland, Oregon. Any help on them would be much appreciated...
