Mrs. Ewald (Ella) Kleinschmidt age 85 of North Freedom passed away early Thursday morning, March 27 at St. Clare Hospital where she was receiving care for the past week. She was born in the Township of Westfield On June 20, 1894 and had been a resident of North Freedom for the past 32 years.
She was married to Albert Baumgarten on January 1, 1914 who preceded her in death. Then she was married to Ewald Kleinschmidt on September 3, 1947.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of North Freedom, the Ladies Aide of the church and the Legion Auxiliary, World War I Barracks and the Homemakers Club of North Freedom. She also sang in St. Paul's Lutheran Choir.
She is survived by her husband Ewald of North Freedom; two daughters, Mrs. August (Leola) Ball of Chicago, Mrs. Mildred Palenshus of Bucyrus, Ohio; two sons, Gilbert Baumgarten of Rock Springs and Oscar Baumgarten of North Freedom; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Freedom. Burial was made in Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.
