The death of Charles F. Wiggins, of Oakland, Cal., occurred at the St. Francis hospital here at 11 p.m. last Wednesday following an operation to which he submitted on that day. Mr. Wiggins was brought to the hospital here from California in a critical condition by his daughter, Mrs. Joe Sprague. He had been in poor health since last November, when he received a fractured arm which necessitated resetting. Death was caused by acute dilatation of the heart.

Mr. Wiggins had been a resident of Gothenburg, Neb., for more than twenty-five years, but for the past three years had made his home in California. He was born in Tunkhannock, Pa., on March 12, 1857, and was 70 years, 10 months and 27 days of age.

Surviving are the widow, residing at Gothenburg, two sons, T. L. Wiggins of Gothenburg, and H. O. Wiggins, of Julesburg, Colo., and one daughter, Mrs. Joe Sprague, of this city. He was preceded in death by a son, Elmer. The body was taken to Gothenburg last Thursday afternoon where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Relatives accompanied the body to Gothenburg.
