1st marriage to William S. Holt.
2nd to Lucius Q. C. Lamar, Jr., U. S. Senator.
She was said to be his 1st love.

The Cherokee Advance (Canton, Ga.) Friday 28 January 1887 p 3
Somewhat Romantic

L. Q. C. Lamar, Secretary of the Interior, and Mrs. General Holt, nee Miss Henrietta Dean, of Macon, were married at the latters (sic) mansion in Macon, January 5th 1887. There is some romance in this wedding inasmuch (sic) as the two wooed each other and were ardent lovers back in the years previous to 1845, but, as Col. Lamar had no large wealth and Miss Dean did, the marriage was forbidden, and the proposal of Wm. S. Holt, a man of snug fortune and fine business capacity, was accepted by Miss Dean and the twain made one in 1846. In 1847 Col. Lamar and Miss Virginia Longstreet, daughter of Judge Longstreet of Oxford, were united in marriage. Happily and seemingly without a ripple to mar the lives of either of the two couples they journeyed on through life together for near forty years. In 1882 General Holt died and two years later Col. Lamar buried his wife. After the death of each others companion the old flame of true love was rekindled and the attachment continued to grow warmer and more binding until recently, when were joined in the holy state of matrimony.
"Two minds with but a single thought,
Two hearts that beat as one"
they had so hoped for forty years ago. It has been stated since the marriage that Col. Lamar intended resigning his Cabinet position, as Secretary of the Interior, and removing back to Georgia. Col. Lamar, however, denies it. We would again like to claim him as a citizen of Georgia, but do not wish him to resign the office he is so ably and satisfactorily filling.
