Anna 1930-1930
Anna Marie Hoff Johnson and infant daughter, baby Anna, wife and daughter of Peter M. Johnson, Shevlin township, died Monday and Tuesday, respectively, July 14th and 15th, death being due to premature childbirth.
Anna M. Johnson, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hoff, farmer living south of Shevlin, was born in the village of Shevlin January 1st, 1900 and was 30 years, 7 months, and 14 days old at the time of her death. She was baptized and confirmed in the Landstad Lutheran Church, Shevlin and grew to womanhood in that community. She was united in marriage to Peter M. Johnson in 1919. To this union was born three sons, and one daughter,besides the infant daughter, Anna. Surviving are her husband, sons, Clarence, Arnold, and Lloyd and daughter Joyce, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoff, four brothers, John, Melvin, Albert, and Herman; five sisters, Mrs. Selvog of Vining, Mrs. W. Beckstrom of Fosston and Julia, Gladys and Mabel at home.
Funeral services were conducted at the Landstad Lutheran Church, Shevlin, Friday afternoon under the arrangements of Arthur W. Neujahr, Bagley Undertaker, the Rev. A. Baalson of Shevlin officiating. The Lutheran quartet consisting of Ole Honstad, Mr. and Mrs. Alf Edlevik and Grace Solberg sang two numbers, "Nearer my God to Thee" and "Safe in the arms of Jesus" Interment was made at the Shevlin Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was a woman of quiet and Christian character and loved by everyone who knew her. In this hour of sorrow the entire community joins to extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
The date for the funeral services of Mrs. Peter Johnson and infant daughter of Shevlin has not yet been decided upon.
Mrs. Johnson passed away on Monday and her daughter on Tuesday. Mrs. Johnson is the daughter of John Hoff, who resides south of Shevlin.
