DEPORT — Roy Arrasmith Sr., 74, of Detroit died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, in Paris Nursing Home.
Graveside funeral services are set for 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in Bluff Cemetery with Jeff Blanton officiating. Wood Funeral Home of Deport has charge of arrangements.
He was born May 30, 1935, in Deport, the son of Marian Curtis Arrasmith and Stella Grant Arrasmith. He was a plumber by trade and he and his wife owned and operated R & E Kennels of Detroit for a number of years. He married the former Ethel Louise Shelby Nov. 8, 1958. She preceded him in death Nov. 12, 2006.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene LeFevers; and a sister, Marilyn Bullard.
He is survived by his children, Roy Arrasmith, II and wife, Stella, of Pattonville, Marion Curtis Arrasmith and wife, Rhonda, of Detroit, Amy Buck and husband, Dewayne, of Paris, and Misty Looney and husband, Jay, of Detroit; 11 grandchildren, Roy, Cassie, Aron, Wendie, Lindsey, Justin, Zachary, Jessica, Noah, Jacie and Macie; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Malachi, Mackenzie, Lane, Tristen, Trey and Acen-Jack; and two sisters, Jane Foster of Grand Prairie and Tommy Lou Chamber of Grand Canyon.
