Sister of Adolph Coors, Jr., Louise Porter, Dies in Denver
Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Coors Porter, sister of Adolph Coors, Jr., of Golden, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, in St. Martin's Chapel of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, Denver. The Rev. Canon Harry Watts officiated. Burial services were private. Born in Golden, Mrs. Porter was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Coors, Sr., founder of the Coors Industries. She was 84. Mrs. Porter attended Wolcott
School for Girls in Denver and Pancratia Hall, a forerunner of Loretto Heights College. She first married Dr. Henry B. A. Kugeler of San Francisco, who died in 1914. Later she married John Henry Porter of Denver. He passed away in 1922. In 1929 Mrs. Porter built a home at Grant and divided her time between there and her residence in Denver. She returned to Denver seven years ago and since has lived at 201 So. Birch street. As one of the founders of the Central City Opera House association, Mrs. Porter organized the dining room at the Teller House. She was known as an outstanding cook. She was a membership of the Denver Country club, the Denver club and St. John's Episcopal Cathedral. Surviving are three sons, Henry A. Kugeler and Hermann Coors Kugeler, both of Denver, and John Henry Porter, Jr., of Newport Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Adolph Coors, Jr., of Golden, and Hermann F. Coors of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandsons and a granddaughter. Among her nephews are Joseph and William Coors of Golden. A daughter, Mrs. Erene Kugeler Jefferson, died in 1955. Memorial gifts may be made to the Leukemia Society.
