She was a native of Pierce County and lived in Mershon most of her life before moving to Augusta five years ago. She had also lived at Baptist Village in Waycross before moving to Augusta. She was a homemaker and had worked for Blackshear Times in the 60's and 70's writing the 'Mershon News." She was a member of Mershon Baptist Church, where she was in the Ladies Sunday School.
