George Vernon Stallings was the eldest of two sons born to George Tweedy STALLINGS and Belle WHITE. He and his wife had two children, a son George Vernon Stallings Jr. and daughter Susan. He was a cartoonist at Walt Disney Studios.
His father, a baseball player and as manager of the Boston Braves, led the team in 1914 from 15 1/2 games behind in July to win the World Series. His brother Oliver White STALLINGS was born Nov. 9, 1896 in Nashville, Davidson county, Tennessee, died Dec. 23, 1964 in Dade county, Florida at age 68 and was buried in Arlington, National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. Inscription
George Stallings is interred in one of the Community Crypts in the Lower Chapel of the West Mausoleum, which is not accessible at this time. However, even if it was, there are no individual niche plates to photograph. The photo to the right shows the steps leading down to the Lower Chapel.
